2021 Newell Brands Design Day
Each year the in-house design team for Newell Brands gathers together to reflect on design’s progress during the year, and celebrate our achievements. A theme is selected that matches the spirit of the year, for 2021 the theme was “All Together, All in.” This theme was chosen because in light of the pandemic and all the changes our company and team had gone through in the last year or 2 we have still managed to work together more collaboratively despite out physical distances while working remotely. This year, Our Design Day event was to broadcast a live virtual event for our design team. We built a set for our key speakers based around our theme.
We utilized studio spaces for our presenters and designed “Set pieces'“ to create a branded experience for the event. The set pieces included banner stands, wall decals, and posters
We created a branded experience box to go along with the event that was mailed to all members of the design team. Inside the box we included a branded team hoodie, playing cards, a sticker, and a greeting card inviting the designer to join our virtual event. We also included several Newell Brands products as well.
Design Award certificates were created for individuals who went above and beyond through out the year.
Template slide graphics were designed and given to each guest speaker to build a cohesive presentation for the event.
Art directed various animation components that were used throughout the day, built by other members on the team.
Worked with a social media team to create content for the day, including behind the scenes look, profiles on guest speakers, and animations. Art directed the effort to keep branding for the event consistent across all platforms.
Event Production Process
This project was a major collaborative effort, engaging professionals from diverse disciplines and specialties. It encompassed all facets of the event, including IT's audio and visual support, social media campaigning, coordination with speakers and hosts, and leading graphic design initiatives. I collaborated with all these teams to oversee each aspect of the event, ensuring everything was building together for one cohesive event.
I created and managed a comprehensive timeline of events and deliverables for the project, ensuring all team members had the resources and information they needed to succeed in their tasks. This timeline encompassed all aspects of the event, from initial kick-off and securing the venue, to coordinating with IT for audio and visual support, and finalizing awards production. By overseeing each step and maintaining clear communication, I kept the project on schedule, facilitated collaboration across diverse teams, and ensured timely completion of all deliverables.
